May Day at the Castle, 50th Celebration Year
May 5, 2025
11.00am – 4.00pm
Fifty years ago, Dixie Lee, a life-long member of the Lions, revived the May Day tradition with the support of Oyster Morris and it has grown since then to the very special occasion it is today.
The May Day celebrations will run from 11am -4pm, with stalls, music, entertainment and Crazee Hazee’s free children’s games, Punch and Judy, refreshments and fun for all the family, with a Bouncy Castle, Coconut Shy, Maypole and Morris Dancing.
Generations of local primary school children’s have designed posters which are used for the front cover of the programme. This year, there will be more than 600 on view, making a colourful display around the beautiful grounds of the Castle.
